See it before you book

Two days in the shop, filmed.

This is what a hands-on class actually looks like — and one of the techniques you would come away able to do.

The curriculum

9 Concrete Niche Products. Each one is a product service you can sell.

These aren't topics skimmed in an afternoon. Each is a complete method — forming, finishing, coloring and sealing — taught to the point where you'd quote a job on it.

Overlays & solid pour

Concrete countertops

Forming, troweling, stamping and specialty texturing. Chiselled edges and inlay work, using molds, specialty material blends, polishing and carving methods, multi-coloured cements and marble dust stacking.

Sink Crete — award winning

Concrete sinks

Over-mount, under-mount and high-end vessel installations. Higher densities, completely stain-free and chemical-resistant mixes, lighter than standard GFRC, with two-hour demold and polishing formulations.

Bryan's signature

Advanced colorations

The intricate work — marble, granite, real stone — drawn from twenty-eight years of artistic coloration knowledge. Replicating granite, marble, copper and bronze in cement.

Cabinet Crete — award winning

Cabinet resurfacing

Resurfacing kitchen cabinets in copper, marble, granite, bronze or tropical colorations — achievable in as little as an hour. Winner, Most Innovative Products, World of Concrete 2009.

Resurfacing

Concrete floor overlays

Troweling, stamping and specialty texturing straight over existing tiled interior floors, using multi-coloured cements, crushed metals and colour stacking.

Vertical work

Rock, water features & vertical concrete

High-end artificial rock and boulders: strong hollow rocks, metal lathe over throw-away formers, fibre-reinforced molded rocks and lightweight cliff panels.

Feature work

Concrete water walls

Weeping water walls end to end — framing options, reinforcement, plumbing, fibre optics and stamping. A 3′ × 6′ wall starts around $5,500, costs under $1,000 in material, and takes one person two to three days.

Sculptural

Concrete trees

Realistic concrete trees built over armature — the troweling, stamping and specialty texturing that makes bark read as bark.

SBC Panel System

Concrete wall panels

Bryan's own panel system, and the one SBC method that has travelled furthest — casting, coloring and hanging 1′ × 2′ panels for interior feature walls, exterior siding and commercial installations. Patterns run from Lively Stone and Castle Stone through Barn Wood, Fractured Quartz and Micro Slate & Glass. It is taught in the hands-on class and included in the home study course.

Support

The class ends. The help doesn't.

“After your course is complete, your training support is endless.” That is meant literally — phone support for as long as you're working in the trade, not a ninety-day window. It is the part students mention most often, and the reason many go on to the membership.
