Thirty-six years of making concrete behave like something else.

Something Better Corporation is Bryan Gauthier's shop. He has spent thirty-six years in decorative concrete, taught it since 1998, and designed most of the tooling SBC sells because what he needed didn't exist.

The texture rollers and stamps are cast from real stone and real wood rather than sculpted from imagination — which is why the results read as stone. The molds are hand-crafted, not vacuum-formed. Sink Crete and Cabinet Crete are both SBC products; Cabinet Crete won Most Innovative Products at the World of Concrete show in 2009.

Why the coloration matters more than the mold

Anyone can press a stamp into wet concrete. Making the result read as weathered oak or petrified wood is a coloring discipline — oxide layering, acid stain, antiquing and highlight work, in a deliberate order. Bryan brings twenty-eight years of artistic coloration to it, and it is the part of the trade most training leaves out.
